Speech
TMC Speech is a text-to-speech instrument built around an emulation
of the LPC speech chip from the classic late-70s talking toys.
Type a text, play it from your keyboard or clips, and the chip speaks it with its
buzzy 8-bit voice, in English, German, French or Spanish.
Play whole phrases, step through the text word by word like a melody,
or cut it into slices across the keyboard.
Then bend it, crush it and glitch it into pure circuit-bent chaos.
FX
TMC FX runs any audio through an emulation of the LPC speech chip from the
classic late-70s talking toys.
Drums, synths, vocals and loops come out as crunchy, buzzing, robotic chip-speech,
from subtle lo-fi grit to completely broken circuit-bent chaos.
The sound is analysed the way the original chip stored speech, then rebuilt by
the chip’s own synthesis engine, with its 8-bit DAC, quirks and limits.
It’s a talking chip that talks back your audio.
